Automatically backup your vBulletin forum
vBulletin being the most popular paid forum software, and undoubtedly the most feature rich and secure, has a large community of developers. The offset of this is they develop some amazing features and release them for free!
There is not much to say about this modification, except that it isn’t the “end all concerns” button. It is still highly recommended that you use other website backup methods to make your data fully redundant, but this mod will no doubt help with your efforts.
vB Database Backup does exactly as its name implies, backs up your vBulletin database. The software is based off an old backup system for vBulletin, and has many of the same features. Unfortunately you cannot back up to FTP, but it’s easy enough to set up a secure folder on your server where the database backups can be dumped.
Overall? This modification is very useful for a fail-safe if your forum ever gets hacked. It won’t be of much use if your server dies as everything is stored locally, but it’s a simple way to have another copy of your database generated automatically.
