Why use tape drives for backup and storage?
Tape drives are often viewed as outmoded pieces of technology that have a great deal of difficulty competing with the availability and ease of use of conventional hard disk drives. However, though more specific in its usage, a tape drive offers many advantages over a hard drive by virtue of the different types of technology that comprise these two respective machines.
